Dario Salas Sommer in Russia

Dario Salas Sommer at Lomonosov University

For some years now, Dr. Salas Sommer, the Chilean thinker, has become of special interest to many in the Russian Federation where his ideas have had a profound impact in numerous areas. He has become especially influential at scientific academies, political circles and cultural institutions of that country where they have adopted his exceptional work: “Morals for the 21st Century” as part of their curriculum. Due to his outstanding work he was appointed in September 2003 Honorary Scientific Consul for Latin America.

At that time, the director of foreign department of the Academy of Science and Arts, Ivan Raylyan, formally invited him to visit Moscow, a visit which took place in May, 2004. During his visit, Dr. Salas Sommer gave a series of lectures, visited scientific research centers, and met with political authorities such as the mayor of Moscow, Yuri Luzhkov and members of Russian Parliament. He also signed important agreements of scientific collaboration with academies and researchers from the University of Lomonosov, among others.

During his tour, Dr. Salas had a full program of activities related to the Dario Salas Academy for Moral Physics, whose members organized the first presentation of “Morals for the 21st Century” in Russian. This book has become incorporated into the recommended reading for members of the Russian parliament, and each representative received a copy personally signed by the author.
